Marios Hadzikostas

Co Founder & Chief Research and Development Officer

He was born and raised in Thessaloniki as well. He studied architecture at the University of East London from where he received his Bachelor’s -BSc- (Hons) degree in Architecture (ARB/RIBA PART I) and immediately after his Master’s -March- (Hons) degree in Architecture (ARB/RIBA PART II). During his BSc studies, he was nominated the prestigious award of excellence while managed to graduate at the top ranking of his class with a distinction.

Focusing not only on the educational side of architecture but on the practical side as well, Marios managed to gain work experience in several architecture firms based in London. After finishing his studies abroad, he started working at his family’s construction office OMEGA DOMIKI O.E. .Furthermore, in 2016 Marios took place in “SKG/4022 WORKSHOP” exhibition where the matter in hand was creating a toy for the children of refugees while the second phase of the exhibition called for the design of a refugee youth center located at Sfagia, Thessaloniki. His work ethic and drive stem from the fact that Marios is always envisioning the design of objects and the spaces which they encompass while trying to achieve the golden ratio between practical and timeless but innovative aesthetic. He is always on the search for state-of-the-art designs and elements from the education industry, a field which he has chosen to thoroughly research and explore in order to examine how he can modify and enhance its spaces and its furniture since a lot of schools have retained the same design throughout the years without any improvements or alterations.

Marios Hadzikostas aspires to reinvent the design of the education sector as his point of view is that architecture and design give life to each space and form since architecture is not only shapes, buildings and inanimate objects, but it also has the ability to shape us. His design style is creating something minimalistic, modernist and unique but at the same time, he strives for each piece to be timeless, not something that could go out of style or something that only reflects its time and place. Last but not least, since form follows function Marios also seeks that each design piece is practical and can get its best use out of the owner, finding the balance between functional and aesthetically appealing.
